Meet the Owner


As a student attending Portland State University 20 years ago, owner Serge Durshpek discovered his love for carpentry and he hasn’t looked back since. Working with his hands and expressing his creativity through carpentry captivated Serge, from conceptualizing an idea to designing it to stepping back and seeing the finished product.Upon graduating from PSU, Serge started Willamette Carpentry with a simple business philosophy: never cut corners, do it right the first time, and always follow through. His commitment to excellence has seen the company grow from one man to a team of dedicated, high-end finish carpenters. Serge’s ethics of integrity, character, communication, transparency, and teamwork are the same non-negotiable standards the company follows today.
Outside of his role overseeing teams and projects at Willamette Carpentry, Serge invests his time working with local nonprofits in Vancouver, as well as volunteering internationally. Serge and his wife Alina live in Washington with their four kids and enjoy spending every minute they can together.
